This paper is curious. Ideas inspired by stream buffers are supposedly commonplace now, and the paper almost exclusively focuses on direct-mapped caches, nearly obsolete in most modern systems. But the ideas were foundational, and the technology was different back then. I liked reading the paper because a lot of his insights aged well, and it provides a clearer, simpler view into the fundamental workings of processors than a lot of modern papers.
